Enviromental Audit Report – Ford Motor Company

photoThe Ford Motor Company was founded in 1903 by Henry Ford, who revolutionized consumerism, and is now one of the largest automotive manufacturing company and a leader in the field of sustainability. In the past decade, Ford has gone through drastic changes in regard to sustainability from their use of materials, manufacturing techniques, and waste management which earned them the title of the world’s greenest brand in 2014 based on the annual survey published by Interbrand.

 

Ford has developed improved manufacturing techniques and materials which has allowed them to reduce the total amount of resources they use across all fields and have drastically reduced their CO2 emissions and wastewater output in most of their operations. They have been so successful that they have managed to convert all manufacturing operations in Canada to send zero waste to the landfills with the Oakville Assembly Plant to be the first.

Today, the Ford Motor Company is the leading company in sustainability for automakers around the world as they continue to develop and improve on their techniques. With the year of 2015 coming to a close, Ford is looking strong in holding their title of the “Greenest Brand”.
